PayPal Is Suing Pandora for Trademark Infringement
All over a blue “P.”
Music streaming giant Pandora unveiled a new logo back in October 2016 and now PayPal is claiming the new design is confusing their customers. According to reports, the digital-payment company says Pandora’s new blue “P” logo damages its business because many customers are mistakenly opening the wrong app on their phones. One PayPal customer tweeted “Kept trying to sign in to my PayPal thinking it was my Pandora. Icons look so similiar.”

PayPal is currently taking litigative measures against Pandora, claiming their new logo “not only resembles, but openly mimics the PayPal logo” and that it “has interfered dramatically with PayPal users’ experience.” While no official statement from Pandora has been released, PayPal is asking the court to force Pandora to stop using the logo and pay for unspecified damages.
