Nike Celebrates Manchester City's History With 2018/19 Home Kit
Referencing key moments in the club’s history.
After releasing a special-edition jersey to celebrate the club’s title win, Nike has now unveiled the home kit that will be worn by Manchester City‘s mens and women’s teams next season. Unsurprisingly, the kit comes in the classic blue colorway with added detailing that references key moments in the club’s history. These features include dark blue speed blur stripes along the arms and shoulders as well as navy socks — a reference to the kit won for the first league win in 1937 and in the 1998/99 season, a year regarded as the turning point in the club’s modern history.
To launch the kit, City has recruited some of its best known players — including Leroy Sané, Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling — as well as local young people from the club’s City in the Community foundation. Take a look at the new Manchester City kit above, and expect it to drop on the Nike web store on May 14.
