LOEWE's "Close to Paradise" Short Film Celebrates Latest Collaboration With Paula’s Ibiza

Ramping up to the official release of its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, LOEWE recently released a new short film spotlighting its second collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza.

Returning to Ibiza, the visual shot by UK director Dan Emmerson utilizes the picturesque pine-rich countryside and pristine coves of the island to highlight the latest team up. Paired with a summer pointed soundtrack courtesy of Soulwax and Michel Gaubert, a cast of four local figures reminisce Ibizian nights of the past, present, and future.

Spotlighted in the short film, the latest Paula’s Ibiza x LOEWE collaboration serves as a garment representation of the flower power movement. Informed by the modern-day design aesthetics of Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson and the love, liberty, and esoteric allure of Ibiza, the range centers around prints taken directly from Paula’s Ibiza founder and designer Armin Heinemann’s archives. While the layering and patchworking construction of collection is dominated by pops of color, striking sequin and all-over print details. Further aesthetic detailing comes in the form of “LOEWE” branding and graphic representations of mythical mermaids and circus characters, polka dots, beach motifs, and cartoon hummingbirds.
