ESPN & Netflix Announce New Michael Jordan Docuseries
Entitled ‘The Last Dance.’
ESPN Films and Netflix are developing a ten-part documentary series about Michael Jordan called The Last Dance. Directed by Andre the Giant‘s Jason Hehir, the anthology will chronicle the rise of Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, as well as the subsequent growth of popularity in the NBA during the ’90s.
The docuseries was made with the backing of Jordan himself, as well as other notable figures from the Bulls’ championship teams. It will highlight over 500 hours of footage never seen from the team’s ‘97-’98 season, complete with commentary with several stars. The Last Dance is slated for a 2019 release.
