Manchester United Terminates Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Contract
“Great things also come to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United.”

On Thursday afternoon, English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United confirmed the termination of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Over the past 12 months Zlatan has struggled with injury, even succumbing to a knee injury last August, which put his career with the Red Devils on hold. Though he helped the club progress through the Europa League in which they eventually won, returning from his injury proved harder than expected.
In the statement released by United, they put on record their thanks for the player and his contribution to the team. “Manchester United confirms that it has agreed to the termination of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract with immediate effect. Everyone at the club would like to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team since his arrival and wishes him well for the future.”
Zlatan posted on his Instagram page shortly after the news and wrote, “Great things also come to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United. Thank you to the club, the fans, the team, the coach, the staff and everybody who shared with me this part of my history. #foreverred”
At 36, Zlatan has seen quite an illustrious career, playing for the top clubs all around Europe including Ligue 1’s Paris Saint-Germain, Serie A’s Juventus, Inter and AC Milan, La Liga with Barcelona, and finally famed Amsterdam club, Ajax.
