UPDATE: According to sneaker leak account @py_rates, the “UNC” colorway of the Virgil Abloh x Nike Air Jordan 1 will release on June 9 for $190 USD. Whether or not this will be a regional drop is yet to be announced so stay tuned for more details.
Back in December of last year, we broke news of rumors that a Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1 in a “University Blue” colorway would be coming out in 2018. Now, further development on that story has come out with sneaker insider @py_rates releasing new info. According to the @py_rates IG account, a new Jordan 1 colorway from Off-White™ creative Virgil Abloh will see a May month release. The inspiration for the colorway will be the school colors of the Universtiy of North Carolina, better known to most as UNC — the college Michael Jordan played for before entering the NBA.
The image shown above features the colorways supposedly already in Nike‘s system — White/Cone/Dark Powder Blue. For clarification, the picture is only a mock-up but expect the release to possibly have a very similar look. As for pricing, it looks like the kicks will carry a $190 USD price tag. No word on which physical retailers will have them but stay tuned with us as we get more info on this exciting potential release.
