adidas Originals is set to launch the first ATRIC collection for Spring/Summer 2018, with a new capsule of hardwearing apparel and footwear. The collection is suitable for both the outdoors and urban settings, with a mix of utilitarian materials and a range of technical elements. For the first collection of footwear and apparel, adidas has focused on Merino wool — a material usually associated with colder months and possesses moisture wicking, breathable and water-resistant qualities.
The stand-out piece in the collection is the new moccasin-inspired ATRIC F/22 silhouette. The sneaker features an upper made from a bespoke Merino wool Primeknit construction, which was developed by adidas Originals and Woolmark and is reinforced by suede overlays. Other features include a minimalist lacing system and a chunky all-terrain outsole.
The sneaker will release alongside a full ATRIC apparel collection, set to feature “Adventure” pieces including outerwear, T-shirts, trousers and accessories. Key pieces include the Adventure Vintage jacket — which is designed for movement and comfort and references classic outdoors pieces from the adidas archive — and the matching pants, complete with a panel construction and belt waist adjuster. The full ATRIC collection is set to launch at the adidas Originals web store on May 3.
