MR PORTER has officially launched a capsule collab with Italian powerhouse Prada. The 32-piece collection marks the first time the brand has collaborated with an online menswear retailer, taking inspiration from the ‘50s and ‘80s, specifically the popularity of bowling. The collab focuses on camp-collar shirts, block-panelled cardigans, knitted T-shirts, blouson jackets in satin and suede and two printed T-shirts with a prominent Prada bowling logo.
Elsewhere there’s pleated and flat-front trousers, polo shirts and mohair blazers, while footwear makes an appearance in loafers, creeper shoes and cap-toe derbies and sneakers. Managing director of MR PORTER, Toby Bateman, said the following: “We are incredibly proud to be working with Prada on this special project and to be the first men’s online retailer to partner on an exclusive collection. The retro themes of 1950s and 1980s menswear were an effortless inspiration for the campaign and content, and allowed us to easily meld the worlds of MR PORTER and Prada.”
