Kim Jones Designs Mercurial Football Boot for Nike
Set to be debuted by Cristiano Ronaldo.

With speculation surrounding Kim Jones’ post-Louis Vuitton moves, the British designer has revealed a special edition collaboration with Nike. The new project sees the designer rework the brand’s Mercurial Superfly 360 football boot. Speaking about his decision to work on a football boot, Jones explained what he enjoys about the sport: “Football gives young people a common goal and allows them to be a part of the community, connecting with the rest of their community in real life on the field rather than just digitally.”
The resulting boot comes in a bright orange colorway with a sock-like ankle construction. Arguably the most eye-catching detail is the black cheetah print pattern that runs along the Mercurial’s upper. Lastly, the boots are finished with a contrasting white Swoosh, and Kim Jones branding along the heel and sole unit. The Kim Jones x Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 will be worn by Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid‘s match against PSG on March 6, with the boots dropping via the brand’s Bootroom web store at halftime.
This isn’t Jones’ first collaboration since leaving Louis Vuitton. He is also teaming up with retailer GU to re-release pieces from his own archive.
