Designer Adam Pickard has found a solution to better understanding IKEA instruction manuals by utilizing augmented reality technology. Using 3D modeling and post-production editing, Pickard has created AssembleAR, a concept app that could implement IKEA’s wireframe build instructions after scanning the product’s barcode box.
The app would the display step-by-step models next to your current product build in real-time, showcasing amazing detail like animated bolts and screws twisting into place. Check out the demonstration above.
