Japanese sportswear company Mizuno is bringing an archival silhouette back to cash in on the chunky sneaker craze. The 1906 WAVE RIDER 1 OG is a reference to 1997’s Wave Rider; the remake retains the original’s eye-grabbing accents and the classic chunky midsole. Patent leather detailing elevates the medial side branding, with the below graphic offering gradient colors and small black flecks for extra visual texture. Large “M” branding appears on the tongue, with Mizuno’s logo also stitched onto the tongue and heel of the shoe to complement the red piping. Thick laces finish off the retro runner.

For more information, check out the Mizuno 1906 website before the shoes hit stockists like BEAMS on March 24.
