Future Shares New Music in 'Superfly' Teaser Trailer
The film is set to debut this summer.
Future has previewed new upcoming music in the teaser trailer for the Director X-lead film, Superfly. The new movie is a remake of the Gordon Parks Jr.-directed 1972 classic. “Check out the @SuperflyMovie trailer featuring my new music… Catch #SUPERFLY in theaters this summer,” Future wrote on Twitter. Within the trailer, the Atlanta star can be heard crooning, “You can walk on minks, baby.”
The film will be produced by Future alongside Joel Silver and star Trevor Jackson as Youngblood Priest, with Jason Mitchell and Andrea Londo. Director X told Deadline back in January that his goal for the remake is to explore the idea of the American dream with a more modern story. “With this film, my goal is to honor the lineage of an iconic title that the community has loved for decades,” he said. Future will also be curating the soundtrack. The original soundtrack for the 1972 film was handled by Curtis Mayfield.
