We’ve already reported McDonald’s plans to revive their legendary Szechuan Sauce after its one-day event on October 7 last year, but now there are more details. There will be 20 million packets available in the U.S. starting February 26, much more than the super-limited batch last year that left many fans empty-handed.
A lot of stories and experiences were created as a result of the former Mulan-exclusive dip after its Rick and Morty shoutout, as it subsequently became a part of the pop culture lexicon. There is now a podcast dedicated to the story of the sauce and it’s called The Sauce. Partnered with Studio@Gizmodo and Onion Labs, McDonald’s have produced a three-episode podcast featuring real interviews with Mickie D’s corporate executives, and even artist Deadmau5. Check out the podcast and share your thoughts in the comments below. In related news, half of KFC’s UK outlets have shut down due to chicken shortages.
Starting 2/26, we’ve got…THE SAUCE! 20 MILLION cups of #SzechuanSauce, spread across every US McD’s with qualifying purchase (while supplies last). We messed up last time. And it was the conclusion of a Szechuan saga beyond belief. @StudioAtGizmodo/@OnionLabs help us tell the surreal story in a new three-episode podcast series: The Sauce.
