YouTube Red Drops the Lead Trailer for 'Karate Kid' Sequel 'Cobra Kai'
The rivalry continues.
Following last summer’s initial announcement, the lead trailer for the forthcoming Karate Kid sequel series Cobra Kai has surfaced.
A modern effort with echoes of nostalgia, the Cobra Kai teaser builds upon the story of the 1984 film Karate Kid and allows William Zabka and Ralph Macchio to jump back into their previous roles for an action-packed tale. Set in a recognizable dojo setting, today’s trailer blends together various aspects from the Karate Kid take on martial arts and hints at future battles. “You may have the moves, but none of that matters unless you have balance,” shares Daniel LaRusso via voiceover. As the release’s official synopsis reveals, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso have moved on from past trials and tribulations, but their rivalry is ready to explode once again in the All Valley Karate Tournament.
You can watch the official trailer for Cobra Kai above, while the series is set to hit YouTube Red later this year.
