This Week's Footwear Drops Add to the All-Star Weekend Festivities

Once upon a time, long before the hype pervaded popular culture, the major sneaker brands would typically deliver one, maybe two coveted releases a month, with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Nowadays, it’s commonplace to see these different labels ditch the ‘who, what, where, when and how,’ and instead drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. A welcomed dilemma for most.
With that said, we continue our weekly roundup of the most sought after silhouettes for the week, hoping to make your ‘cop or drop’ decision as easy as possible. Check out the list below and chime in on the styles you’ll be picking up.
Air Jordan 3 “Free Throw Line”

Jordan Brand goes back to ‘88 to revisit Michael Jordan‘s iconic Slam Dunk Contest win. The classic Air Jordan 3 returns boasting its familiar “White Cement” aesthetic, while resting atop a new translucent outsole. Within the aforementioned outsole you’ll find a red stripe marking the location on the foot where MJ jumped from the foul line during the contest. The model’s traditional detailing returns in the form of its elephant print on the heel and toe, in addition to a Jumpman logo on the tongue and Nike‘s Air stamp on the heel.
Nike Air Force 1 Low “Swoosh Pack”

Shortly after its emergence at the tail-end of January, Nike‘s DIY fixation continues with its Air Force 1 “Swoosh” pack. Here, the Air Force 1 Low features a selection of removable Swoosh options with base choices of white, black or sail. The various-colored Swooshes can be easily applied or discarded with the use of Velcro.
Bristol Studio x adidas Crazy BYW

adidas‘s new Crazy BYW (BOOST YOU WEAR) model is already being called on for collaborations. This time around, Bristol Studio delivers two colorways, cream and black (Friends & Family), of the sneaker. Bristol Studio’s Luke Tadashi uses his first love of basketball as the influential spark, while each edition rests atop a traditional gum outsole.
OVO x Air Jordan 8

October’s Very Own is back with another Jordan Brand collaboration. Following the Air Jordan 10 and Air Jordan 12 releases, Michael Jordan‘s eighth signature sneaker now receives the Drake treatment, with two colorway choices of black or white with gold detailing and OVO branding.
Air Jordan 1 High (Black/Metallic Gold-White)

The fan-favorite Air Jordan 1 High now comes in a Black/Metallic Gold-White colorway. Dressed in patent leather, the high-cut model gives you a ‘flash of the past’ thanks to its “Nike Air” branding on the tongue and signature “WINGS” logo on each lateral side. Asymmetrical side paneling is also present, with black on the medial side and white on the lateral for the final touch to this highly-coveted iteration.
adidas Harden Vol. 2

James Harden is ready to take the next euro-step in his signature line with the adidas Harden Vol. 2. Set to release in a trio of colorways, the low-cut model boasts a FORGEFIBER upper, which can be seen underneath a lacing cage that provides a customizable lacing experience. The inaugural editions will include the “California Dreamin’,” “Ignite” and “Vision” colorways, all paying homage to The Beard’s love for his hometown of LA, his offensive contribution on court and the influence of Audubon Middle School.
adidas x 747 Warehouse St.

adidas will celebrate this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend with a special 747 Warehouse St. event. The function pays homage to basketball culture and its influence on footwear with special performances and a selection of exclusive drops. Amongst the launches, you’ll find models such as the FUTURECRAFT 4D, BAPE x adidas Dame 4 “Friends & Family,” Crazy BYW X, Crazy BYW LVL 1, Y-3 BYW Harden, UltraBOOST Mid Parley and much more.
KITH x Nike “Long Live the King” Chapter 2

KITH and Nike are back to open Chapter 2 of the collaborative “Long Live the King” Collection. The Battleknit upper on Lebron James’ 15th sneaker gets dressed up with royalty-inspired embroidery as a nod to his “King James” nickname. The selection is made up of two performance and two lifestyle models going under monikers of “King’s Cloak,” “King’s Crown,” “City of Angels” and “Suit of Armor.” The footwear will also be complemented by a selection of apparel in order to bring in the opening of KITH’s new location in Los Angeles.

Kobe Bryant‘s influence on basketball footwear continues, as Nike revisits his first signature sneaker with the brand. Equipped with upgrades tailored to today’s players, the Kobe 1 “Protro” provides a blast from the past while pushing the needle forward.
Nike Air Zoom Generation “Wheat”

In addition to LeBron James celebrating his 15th signature model with Nike, “King James” will also dig into the vault to bring back a special edition of the Nike Air Zoom Generation for All-Star Weekend. The “Wheat” iteration makes its return after first seen in 2004’s NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge. Buttery suede still makes up the majority of the upper as additional detailing includes chrome hits on the heel.
Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”

The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” is back once again. To complement the above “Free Throw Line” drop, the contrasting OG iteration returns boasting the design’s traditional features, such as elephant print, visible cushioning in the midsole and “Nike Air” branding on the heel. The classic, subtle red hits also return, featured behind the tongue and on the Jumpman logo.
BAPE x adidas Dame 4

An unexpected collaboration to say the least, BAPE links up with adidas Hoops to place a spin on the Dame 4 sneaker. Damian Lillard’s fourth adidas sneaker gets dressed up in BAPE’s signature camo, with the option of either black or green. Additional detailing includes BAPE’s “WGM” stamp around the ankle as well as the shark graphic found on the hoodies implemented on each midsole.
