Back in 2016, in the midst of Lil Wayne’s $51 million dollar USD lawsuit against Birdman for withholding money owed to him, the Cash Money CEO announced a new partnership with Apple Music to release an official documentary about his one-time revered label, Cash Money Records. A trailer for the documentary was debuted in August 2016 but since then, it’s been pretty quiet.

Today, well over a year from its original announcement, it now appears Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story will see an official release. Apple Music has shared details on the documentary, saying the film will now drop on February 16. They’ve also accompanied the news with a new trailer that can be seen above.

Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story documents the lives of Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams from the days of youth and everything in between leading up to their meteoric rise in hip-hop. Watch the trailer and stay tuned for more details.
