adidas has announced a partnership with Swedish technology company Zound Industries for a new joint project. Zound is best known as the company behind audio brands such as Marshall speakers and Urbanears headphones. The project which will run until 2024 will see Zound design, develop, manufacture, market, and sell headphones under the adidas name and logo.

Exact details of the partnership are unclear, although the first adidas headphones release is set to be at some point in 2019. Meanwhile, Zound Industries CEO Pernilla Ekman described it as a “licensing agreement” that enables the company to “further strengthen our position as a leader within the sport and lifestyle headphone segments.” Keep an eye out for the adidas headphones to arrive next year. In other headphone-related news, UNDEFEATED and Beats by Dre recently teased a new collaboration.
