Vanasco recently made a conscious move to go by his real name rather than Van Styles, an alias he created in his early 20s when coming up directing adult films. Now in his late 30s with a young daughter and a much different portfolio, the Queens-born, San Fernando Valley-raised photographer has begun to consider the importance of legacy, not only to him and his professional career but to his family.

After spending the first portion of the episode opening up about his early career and name change, Vanasco then talks about the need for flexibility as an entrepreneur and what he believes is the effect of social media on today’s creatives.
