UPDATE: It was announced in December that Resident Evil 2 and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds would join forces on a crossover event but now the collaboration has officially gone live, unveiling further details about the mashup. View new footage in the official tweet below.

Players can experience the PUBG Mobile X Resident Evil 2 event in the “Zombie: Survive Till Dawn” feature, which will be offered for a limited time. The highly-anticipated update offers users the chance to battle against key Resident Evil 2 characters including Mr. X, Lickers and zombies for survival. As there’s no current indication that the event will be offered on other platforms, fans will only be able to access the game in the mobile edition while available.

Earlier this morning, a Japanese Resident Evil account confirmed the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake will be collaborating with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mobile game. Although no details have been confirmed, judging by the brief teaser available, it appears the mobile port will be getting a new Zombies mode akin to Call of Duty.

“PUBG MOBILE × Resident Evil RE: 2 collaboration is decided!,” the roughly-translated tweet reads. “What kind of innovative play can be produced by combining the world’s most popular mobile game and survival horror’s monument, two super IPs?”

The news follows the base game announcing a Suicide Squad collaboration starring The Joker and Harley Quinn. The mobile port of PUBG has been getting its own events independent of the base title, and this looks to be one of them. Check out the teaser below and share your thoughts. Meanwhile, grab the upcoming Resident Evil REmake January 25, 2019.

In other entertainment news, Negan from The Walking Dead just got his own trailer for Tekken 7.
