J. Cole, Ari Lennox Share Sultry "Shea Butter Baby" Visuals
The single comes from the ‘Creed II: The Album’ soundtrack.
After performing during last weekend’s NBA All-Star Game halftime show — and simultaneously teasing a few tracks that are speculated to be on his upcoming album — J. Cole is back on centerstage in a new music video with Ari Lennox for “Shea Butter Baby.” The single from the Dreamville Records duo comes off of the Creed II: The Album soundtrack, which was curated by Mike WiLL Made-It for the film’s sequel.
The sultry visuals, directed by Bennett Johnson, set the rapper and singer against a fluorescent backdrop featuring shades of brown and orange that set a warm, sensual mood. Lennox entices her suitor amid a smoky and hazy scene, before Cole enters the picture and offers up his verse.
The R&B songstress is gearing up to release her debut album soon, also entitled Shea Butter Baby. She is also expected to appear on Cole’s next project, Revenge of the Dreamers III.
