Over Yohji Yamamoto‘s thirty-plus years in fashion, he’s issued dozens of collections across a wide variety of sub-labels, yielding plenty of grail items for devotees to fawn over — consider the recent vintage Yamamoto pop-up in Seoul. Recently, Yamamoto’s younger labels have begun to get more adventurous in their offerings, with Ground Y issuing anime collaborations and S’yte quietly reissuing classic Yamamoto piece from past collections.

The most recent selection includes a sextet of jacquard knit goods, each a callback to one of Yamamoto’s famed presentations. Nods to Spring/Summer 2004 and Fall/Winter 1995 collections abound, with each garment showcasing a series of collaged imagery from those older collections. “TOKYO ROSE,” geishas, oni, manga characters and skulls in tophats all appear throughout, executed in tonal monochrome or red/black iterations. Original S’yte imagery fills out the graphic-heavy gear, each piece executed in a non-pilling acrylic/wool blend for longlasting winter warmth.

Shop the reissued goods on Yohji Yamamoto’s international web store when they release on December 7. Below, check out one of the shows that inspired the collection: 1991’s joint presentation with COMME des GARÇONS, “6.1 The Men.”
