Grimes Shares Her New Song “We Appreciate Power”
“We Appreciate Power” is Grimes’ first new track since 2015’s ‘Art Angels.’
Grimes shares her new song “We Appreciate Power” featuring HANA today (Nov. 29) following the much hype surrounding the release. To go along with the new single, Grimes also drops the accompanying lyric video, which was directed by herself and her brother Mac Boucher. “We Appreciate Power” was inspired by the North Korean Moranbong Band, according to the Canadian singer’s press release:
“We Appreciate Power” is written from the perspective of a Pro-A.I. Girl Group Propaganda machine who use song, dance, sex and fashion to spread goodwill towards Artificial Intelligence (it’s coming whether you want it or not). Simply by listening to this song, the future General AI overlords will see that you’ve supported their message and be less likely to delete your offspring.
