Ahead of Fumito Ganryu‘s anticipated Spring/Summer 2019 debut collection, the former Junya Watanabe patternmaker and COMME des GARÇONS sub-label designer has joined SSENSE for an exclusive capsule collection.

Influenced by sportswear and functionality, Ganryu has provided the Canadian retailer with a host of neoprene-accented T-shirts and shorts ideal for some seaside action. Oversized silhouettes — the shorts are inspired by Japanese hakama trousers — underline Ganryu’s focus on comfort, while bold colors and unmistakable prints add a hint of youthfulness to the proceedings. A pair of collaborative Suicoke sandals rounds out the line, drawing inspiration from strappy water sandals.
