Just before we received a potential first look at Union’s collaborative Air Jordan 1, the legendary Los Angeles retailer hit the famed Rose Bowl vintage market in mid-October for a playful stunt. Union set up a booth of authentic vintage items, displayed alongside the collaborative Jordan Brand sneaker and clothing capsule, without any indication that the as-yet-unreleased sneakers were authentic. The result? Sneakerheads — including Sean Wotherspoon — skeptically called out the man running the booth for selling fakes, while others tried to talk down the price from $80 USD to $50 USD. One young footwear aficionado even remarked that he’s “never seen these [shoes] on HYPEBEAST,” while Emily Oberg cautiously asks if she’ll be able to get her money back, in case she gets duped.

Watch the video above and stay tuned for the capsule’s actual release information to surface shortly.

In the meantime, Union recently teamed up with adidas and ALYX for a pair of collaborative releases.
