Trippie Redd Debuts New 'Love Letter To You 3' Single, "Topanga"
He also reveals some of the album’s features.
Following his inclusion on Lil Yachty’s latest studio album Nuthin 2 Prove, Trippie Redd has taken to Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 program to debut his latest major single, “Topanga.”
Released in support of his forthcoming Love Letter To You 3 project, the DJ ChopSquad-produced “Topanga” has been teased on social media for several weeks now, and was initially announced through teaser-clips on Instagram.
“The way I set up my projects, I put the first track to the last track. If you listen to it from start to finish, that’s how I put it together. It’s art, it’s not anything to play with,” Trippie Redd tells Lowe, breaking down his next album and his new single. “It’s starts with ‘Topanga’ track and ends with some guitar. It has some stuff about relationships, but that’s life. ‘Toxic Waste’ is about a toxic relationship. What you hear is mixed — everybody has to mix their vocals for how it’s supposed to sound. When I record, I do use autotune, but I don’t use it how people use it. I like samples a lot.”
Elsewhere, Trippie Redd also confirms that YoungBoy Never Broke Again — who included the Ohio star on his recent Decided project — and Juice WRLD are featured on Love Letter To You 3.
“I feel like whatever you’re doing, you’re letting people know who you are and you pave the way,” Trippie Redd adds. “[I’m just going to do] whatever comes to my head. I’m just trying to really leave my imprint on the industry.”
