After weeks of playful teases, which includes debuting themed merch, as well as divulging both the album’s release date and tracklist, Sheck Wes’ long-awaited Mudboy project finally saw the light of day. The Cactus Jack Records signee’s debut album is comprised of 14 tracks, and aside from its thumping baselines and Wes’ lyrical flow, Mudboy acts as a creative outlet, touching on several other areas of interest the Harlem native is known for.
Visited earlier in the aforementioned merch drop, the topic of basketball surfaces throughout the album, most noticeably in the song “Kyrie,” as well as the hit tune “Mo Bamba,” referencing Orlando Magic rookie of the same name. Sheck Wes’ budding model career was also visited in “WESPN,” referring to his time as a runway model, while also throwing a spotlight on the high-fashion world in his call out of “Vetements Socks.” Be sure to stream the album below now.
