Ella Mai Recruits Chris Brown for New Single "Whatchamacallit"
Her first collaborative single since “Boo’d Up.”
Back in August, Ella Mai delivered the anticipated follow-up to her breakout hit “Boo’d Up,” “Trip.” Now, the fast-rising songstress returns with another new single, “Whatchamacallit.”
“Whatchamacallit” features Chris Brown, an artist that Ella Mai herself is a big fan of. “Vocally, he’s amazing,” Mai shares via press statement. “If he didn’t come out the way he did and make the music that he did, I think I would be a completely different artist. He’s influenced an entire generation.”
Along with today’s drop, Ella Mai has also unveiled the tracklist for her upcoming debut album. Besides Chris Brown, the project will feature collaborations with John Legend and H.E.R. Besides that, the 15-track record is a solo affair.
