He also talks about making his making his long-awaited full-length debut.
For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up with Buddy to discuss learning from other artists such as Nipsey Hussle and Pharrell and making his long-awaited debut album, Harlan & Alondra.
“Just being a fly on the wall, those people really lead by example so I kind’ve just seen what worked and didn’t work and kind of moved accordingly when making my album and I think I did good,” he explained when asked about his approach to making Harlan & Alondra.
The 12-track LP, which dropped in July, is lead by his singles “Black” featuring A$AP Ferg plus Khalid collaboration “Trippin‘.” Other guests on the full-length project include Snoop Dogg, Guapdad 4000 and Ty Dolla $ign. Last year Buddy dropped two EPs: Ocean & Montana with Kaytranada and Magnolia. Harlan & Alondra will definitely be on a lot of best albums list when 2018 is over.
