The forthcoming standalone Star Wars film is well underway — despite previous directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord stepping away from the project and Ron Howard stepping in. With only four months until the highly-anticipated movie hits the big screen, Disney has now shared the official plot summary for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
According to Lucasfilm Inc. and Disney, the picture will take place several years prior to Han meeting Luke and Obi-Wan:
“Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”
Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo alongside Donald Glover as Lando. Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke also star in the film. Solo is still set to come out on May 25. Stay tuned for an official trailer to drop soon.
In case you’ve missed it, Ron Howard teased a first look of Donald Glover as young Lando.
