Michael B. Jordan & Michael Shannon Star in HBO's 'Fahrenheit 451' Adaptation
Ray Bradbury’s classic dystopian novel reimagined as a feature-length film.
HBO‘s adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 boasts some major star power: Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon both take on the film’s lead roles.
Bradbury’s work centers around a future in which society seeks out and destroys books by setting them on fire, then a commentary on the censorship of the McCarthy trials. The brief teaser offered by HBO looks to stay true to the source material — unlike the 1966 sci-fi adaptation — focusing on a copy of Pride and Prejudice set aflame atop a pile of other burning books before one of the novel’s firemen strides into frame and blasts the books with a flamethrower.
Work on the film began in 2016, and it’s set to debut this spring. Stay tuned for further updates and trailers. Elsewhere, the entertainment giant recently teased the latest season of Silicon Valley.
