mita sneakers & ASICS Partner for the Underwater-Inspired GEL-Kenun "Shinkai"
A homage to the prehistoric deep-sea overlord “giant teeth shark.”

Following the release of the their latest ASICS Tiger GEL-Lyte III, which incorporates Yokosuka elements, Japan-based mita sneakers and ASICS collaborate once again for the new Kenun model . The GEL-Kenun Shinkai’s unique design draws inspiration from the prehistoric deep-sea overlord “giant teeth shark” with an overall rendering of the dark blue ocean. The shoe’s body and heel pull-ring design are derived from a shark’s fin, with the midsole print changing color in the light like sea water.
The insoles are printed with shark teeth and mita’s signature iron mesh, with the pattern following on the tongue of the model. “In order to highlight the more subversive avant-garde style, I imagined the depths of the sea from the high sky, and finally decided to show the ancient deep-sea overlord giant teeth shark,” said Gui-rong, creative director of mita sneakers.
Pick up these kicks in October for ¥1,090 JPY (approximately $96 USD) at ASICS and mita sneakers retail stores, select retail partners, and ASICS’s online store.
