Jennifer Lawrence Is a Seductive Spy in 'Red Sparrow'
Lawrence takes on the role of Dominika Egorova in the big screen adaptation.
Following a starring turn in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Mother!, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has reunited with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence (no relation) for Red Sparrow. An adaptation of the espionage thriller of the same name from CIA operative-turned-author Jason Matthews, Red Sparrow stars Lawrence as the Russian title character, Dominika “Red Sparrow” Egorova. Trained in the art of seduction at the Sparrow School, the badass Egorova undergoes a crisis of conscience and considers becoming a double agent after falling for a CIA officer (Joel Edgerton).
Starring Lawrence and Edgerton alongside the likes of Jeremy Irons, Matthias Schoenaerts, Ciaran Hinds, Joely Richardson, Mary Louise Parker, and Charlotte Rampling, Red Sparrow is due out on March 2, 2018.
