Edison Chen Is Confucius in New CLOT x Converse One Star Lookbook
“Ancient scholars for themselves, today’s scholars for people.”
Last week it emerged that the upcoming collaboration between Converse and Hong Kong-based brand CLOT could be dropping as soon as September 13 and now CLOT has released a lookbook starring its founder Edison Chen. The lookbook itself builds on the sneaker’s Confucian influence, with Chen wearing the “True Peace” One Stars with traditional dressing.
The CLOT x Converse One Star is influenced by the concept of yin and yang, with those symbols appearing in one of the sneakers, while the text on the shoe’s midsole, which roughly translate as “ancient scholars for themselves, today’s scholars for people,” is taken from the Analects of Confucious. Check out CLOT’s lookbook for its Converse One Star collaboration above. The sneaker will be available at JUICE‘s Shanghai location on September 13 before dropping at other JUICE stores and other retailers on September 14.
As well as collaborating with CLOT, Converse has recently released an official look at its upcoming collaboration with fragment design.
