Disney Is Pulling Marvel & 'Star Wars' Films From Netflix
If you want them at the ready once again, get ready to open your wallet.
The days of a single convenient streaming platform are all but over as Disney joins the fray. Coinciding with the move, Disney will pull its content from Netflix in favor of their own platform. As such, the house the mouse built is pulling all Marvel and Star Wars films off the streaming service.
This inevitability comes from Disney’s announcement in August that it was set to launch its own dedicated streaming platform, and they will feature Marvel and Star Wars films. Rest assured however, the Netflix Original Marvel shows like Daredevil and Luke Cage will remain where they are.
Disney CEO Bob Iger all but confirmed the move at a communications conference, saying, “We’re going to launch big, and we’re going to launch hot. We’ve now decided we will put the Marvel and Star Wars movies on this app as well.” Enjoy the films while they’re there, as they are expected to vanish when Disney’s service rolls out next year.
