Jared Leto & Margot Robbie to Reprise Roles in New Joker-Harley Quinn Movie
“A criminal love story.”

After teasing the mashup this past July, Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that Jared Leto and Margot Robbie will reprise their roles as the villainous DC darlings, Joker and Harley Quinn. The Suicide Squad spin-off will be helmed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa who directed and produced NBC’s This Is Us alongside the popular 2011 comedy-drama, Crazy, Stupid, Love. The exec decision by the famed studio comes as no surprise since Ficarra and Requa had directed Robbie in the Will Smith-leading crime film, Focus. Details regarding the storyline and premiere date are still pending with WB having only revealed that the motion picture will center upon a “criminal love story,” as per Hollywood Reporter.
It’s important to note that the Joker-Harley movie will be separate from the Gotham City clown’s origin story which Warner has already been working on with The Hangover director Todd Philips to potentially helm it—although, Leto will not be starring in the film. Furthermore, it will presumably launch after the studio debuts the next Suicide Squad installment.
Nevertheless, let us know your thoughts on the Joker-Harley spin-off and stay tuned for more details.
