Dave Chappelle & Friends To Help Celebrate 25 Years of 'Def Comedy Jam'
The series launched the careers of some of today’s top comedians.
Time does fly and the proof is in Def Comedy Jam celebrating twenty-five years since its HBO debut. The Russell Simmons-produced series featured stand-up comedians looking to make a name for themselves and push the genre further from Tracy Morgan to Dave Chappelle and much more who are now stars.
To commemorate the success of Def Comedy Jam, Netflix has stepped up to deliver a special that aims to place emphasis on “the impact and legacy of the long-running comedy series with surprise guests, tributes and performance in a can’t miss evening of unbelievably funny and raw moments.” The forthcoming special is expected to feature Mike Epps, Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, Craig Robinson, JB Smoove, Katt Williams, Bill Bellamy, Chappelle and many others.
Netflix’s Def Comedy Jam 25 special is set to debut this Fall with a reboot of the stand-up comedy series to also be unveiled by Simmons before the end of the year.
