Here we are in the last and final days of August — the time of year that has become the “release season” for some of music’s elites. Whether it’s due to festival events winding down, or just personal preference, fans were nevertheless treated with some of the most anticipated music releases of the year, most notably in the last week. One of the biggest surprise releases was from Lil Uzi Vert who was arguably the biggest breakout act of 2017 following the success of “XO Tour Llif3” that officially went triple platinum last month.

The final weeks of August saw other major and unexpected surprise drops from the likes of A$AP Mob, who’s been flooding the month with respective full-length releases from A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Ferg, and of course the Cozy Tapes 2 project that’s still heating up the airwaves. On the note of surprise releases, South Floridian newcomer XXXTENTACION also joined in on party with his own surprise release when he dropped his debut album, 17 last week amongst some distinguished company following a year of ups and downs involving jail time, Drake beef, getting attacked on stage, and more recently, sharing an Instagram post of his own mock hanging.

Other notable drops from last week included releases from Action Bronson, Queens of the Stone Age and Daniel Caesar amongst others. Vote for as many or as few titles as you’d like or let us know what you think in the comments section below.
