Nike Officially Introduces Draymond Green's Championship-Winning Kicks
An in-depth look at the React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit.
Having made their debut on the feet of Draymond Green during the Golden State Warriors’ NBA Finals showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit has officially been revealed by Nike. The latest evolution of the beloved Hyperdunk, the new design “extends the legacy, advancing the proposition with a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic approach that result in a modern take on a classic look.” Here, a Flyknit upper takes on an ’80s-inspired topline while sporting a subtly decoupled collar for a customizable fit and natural mobility. Joining the upper is a data-informed traction pattern on the outsole — one utilizing circular patterns that synthesize pressure maps from the Nike Sports Research Lab — while a shank plate manages torque and is situated between the outsole and new React core. The result? A shoe that perfectly harnesses “quick cuts, smooth lift-off and sustained play.”
“This shoe is lightweight, it has a resilience in it. It has the bounce for sprinting and moving around just like I want to,” says Draymond of the design. “To be the first to wear the latest Hyperdunk… to win a title in it… means the world to me.”
The React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit officially launches August 3.
