This past weekend, Nike celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1 – a shoe that was pivotal in the transition of sneaker culture from the courts to the street. To mark the occasion, the Nike Court in Bejing played host to a number of talks, music performances, workshops and more.

A major highlight of the weekend was the “Canvas of The Game” AF1 workshop that was free for early applicants or those wearing AF1s on event day — providing fans all the tools and guidance needed to fully customize a free pair of AF1s. Regarding music, the weekend was headlined by Chinese rapper BRIDGE but also saw numerous rap battles take place during the event with the winner taking home a pair of AF100s. There was also a number of talks on sneaker culture and styling, with a FORCE is FEMALE segment hosted by the likes of Edison Chen, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Errolson Hugh and Kim Kioric. Lastly, a Nike event wouldn’t be complete without a few sneaker appearances, including the Chinese Elements Air Force 1 pack and the unreleased Year of Dog Air Force 1 2018 edition.
