A New UNDERCOVER x Nike Collaboration Has Surfaced
Part Dunk, part Huarache, part SFB.
Jun Takahashi and Nike are back at it. After coming together for a brand new GYAKUSOU collection back in November, the Japanese designer and sportswear giant have joined forces for a new piece of footwear — this one a proper UNDERCOVER release. The first UNDERCOVER x Nike drop since 2015’s Court Forces, the 2017 release comes in the form of a brand new silhouette: the Jungle Dunk. Part Dunk, part Huarache, and part SFB, the hybrid design takes on the familiar high-top Dunk upper, but modifies it significantly thanks to the addition of the Huarache’s unmistakable TPU heel support wrap and the SFB Jungle’s rugged sole unit. The Huarache overlay’s TPU construction even extends to the Dunk “wings” for added support. Finally, Dynamic Flywire loops couple with the lacing for a lockdown fit while UNDERCOVER’s “CHAOS/BALANCE” branding decorates the left and right TPU heel wraps, respectively.
Finished with a jagged motif along the lateral side of the upper and sporting UNDERCOVER’s logo on the heel pull tabs, the collaborative black and blue Jungle Dunk is expected to hit Nike stockists like Solebox in limited quantities on January 18.
