Trapstar Rolls Through West London in Its Short Film "Unruly"
Highlighting its upcoming PUMA collaboration and featuring guest appearances from AJ Tracey and WSTRN.
Bringing its gritty, urban aesthetic to video, UK label Trapstar has produced a short-film titled, Unruly. Directed by Hamish Stephenson and written by Mikey Trapstar, the story follows the Trapstar squad as they move through the streets of the city along with an army of blacked-out bikes and Porsches. The setting changes several times along the way, moving from apartment blocks, to a bodega, to a hotel, before landing the viewer in a surreal forest setting covered in red leaves. Throughout the film, Trapstar is keen to stay true to its London heritage — touching on some of the most relevant subculture influences in the UK, with appearances from grime MC AJ Tracey, Akelle from the music collective WSTRN and even narration by Ashley Walters from Top Boy. Unruly not only gives us a look at the West London scene through the brand’s lens, but also showcases the leather jackets and t-shirts it has become known for, before previewing a special capsule collection with PUMA for Fall/Winter 2016.
Combining PUMA’s technical sportswear with the elevated streetwear influence of Trapstar, the Trapstar x PUMA lineup featured in Unruly focuses primarily on camo and noise patterns with red and grey gradient coloration. Two footwear silhouettes, the Cell Bubble and the Disc Blaze make an appearance as well a complete co-branded apparel collection from jackets and sweatshirts to pants and shorts.
