Jordan Brand Officially Unleashes the Air Jordan XXXI "Banned"
A new age look at Michael Jordan’s beginnings.
It’s pretty evident that Michael Jordan’s legacy will forever be embedded within the game of basketball. The GOAT also has a strong hand in the world of footwear as well. While 30 signature silhouettes strong with countless amounts of retro releases, Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the upcoming Air Jordan XXXI model. Taking inspiration from Michael Jordan’s inaugural silhouette which would unforgettably face a $5,000 USD fine each time he would wear them on court due to uniform policies within the NBA, the Air Jordan XXXI revisits a legendary time for the Swoosh and the early stages of MJ’s career.
The Air Jordan XXXI hosts a Flyweave upper which transitions into premium leather from toe to heel as a display of off-court sensibility and on-court performance. Tailored for athletes such as Russell Westbrook, its low-profiled cushioning provides a floor feel via its low-to-the-ground sole units, Flight Speed Technology and full length Zoom Air unit.
The Air Jordan XXXI “Banned” will officially release globally on September 3 for a retail price of $185 USD at select retailers as well as online.
