'In a Valley of Violence’ Pits Ethan Hawke Against John Travolta
They should’ve just left him alone.
If you’ve been disappointed with the Westerns that’s been releasing as of late, maybe the new film by director Ti West (House of the Devil) might interest you. Titled In a Valley of Violence, the movie centers around a lone wanderer named Paul (played by Ethan Hawke) who makes his way to a town called Denton to grab a drink at the local pub. Seeing that he’s a stranger, some rapscallions start to harass Paul but end up being taught a lesson by the drifter. Turns out one of the bullies is the local sheriff’s (John Travolta) son (James Ransone) and things get a little bit shaky between all of them. Since Westerns are primarily based on tales of revenge, let’s just say Hawke, Travolta and Ranosne’s characters will eventually collide in an epic climax. Watch the trailer above to see if it will be one of the year’s best Western flicks.
In a Valley of Violence will arrive in theaters October 21.
