Lil Yachty Premieres 'Keep Sailing' Short Film & 'Summer Songs 2' Mixtape
A twofer from the enigmatic red-headed rapper.
Lil Yachty has returned with a twofer for his fans: first, Lil Boat stars in The FADER‘s new musical documentary, Keep Sailing, which stars the red-haired rapper alongside best friend and tells the story of how he went from his college’s laughingstock to the internet’s critical darling, as well as the story of how he met and befriended frequent collaborator Burberry Perry. The stylish short film was directed by photographer Petra Collins and features Yachty’s real mother and his fictional uncle, Darnell Boat.
Second, Yachty dropped the sequel to his breakout Summer Songs EP. Summer Songs 2 premiered on Apple Music and features 14 new tracks, including “So Many People.” Production is largely kept in-house — Perry and Boat have undeniable chemistry, after all — and there are features from Migos’ Offset, Lil Herb, and the Sailing Team.
