Back in the spring, Louis W. took cues from the sporting culture of English private schools — and the films Brideshead Revisited and Maurice, in particular — for his Spring/Summer 2016 “Club Kids Society” collection for A.P.C. This time around the designer and the Parisian favorite are going in a decidedly different direction, paying homage to the May 1968 riots in France and the aesthetic of the youthful protesters as they “sought to claim their right to expression through asserting their individuality.” Aptly dubbed “Soixante Huit” (or “Sixty Eight”), the range employs retro styles and warm shearling throughout as Louis W. takes on classic styles like bombardiers, aviators, bombers and parkas. Military-inspired knitwear is also included in the range for good measure as V-neck and zippered roll neck styles join the fray. There’s even a jumpsuit in natural tone raw canvas — a decidedly refined take on blue collar workwear.
Ranging in price from $425 to $3,250 USD, the full Louis W. for A.P.C. Fall/Winter 2016 drop is available in stores and online now.
