Martin Shkreli Maintains He Is Totally Not an Evil Supervillain in an Interview
In a “Google Chemtrails” shirt, no less.
Dastardly price-gouger Martin Shkreli is back in the headlines. The last we had heard from him, he and three Rent-A-Goons were threatening to wipe Ghostface Killah’s stems from the latest Wu-Tang album if the rapper refused to issue a formal and handwritten apology to the legally beleaguered hedge fund manager. The Sheepshead Bay native recently sat down with Vice for an intimate interview over a game of chess and a bottle of expensive wine at his Midtown apartment to discuss his origin story, his approach to pharmaceutical investment, and his role as a vilified figure in the media — naturally, he embraces it with open arms. He goes on to justify his price-gouging Ponzi scheme as a play against the heartless insurance companies, despite the skyrocketing premiums and drug shortages that his 5000% price hike has caused for AIDS patients across America. Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, the $2 million USD stunt that Shkreli completed in hopes of making famous friends, also makes a cameo appearance on a side table. Watch the millionaire hoverboard around his dorm room-esque apartment in emo band The Hotelier’s “Google Chemtrails” shirt above.
