Hideo Kojima Fans Can Pre-Order a $2,000 USD Ludens Statue
Autographed by the man himself.
Those eagerly awaiting Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated Norman Reedus-/Guillermo del Toro-/Mads Mikkelsen-assisted Death Stranding can show off their fanboy status with Sideshow Collectibles’ latest exclusive: a limited-edition statue of Kojima Productions’ mascot, Ludens. Shown here in prototype form, the statue is billed as a half-scale model, stands a whopping 63-inches tall and sees the Yoji Shinkawa-designed character in his “extra-vehicular activity (EVA) creative suit” — which looks like a cross between Snake’s battle dress from The Phantom Pain and a bulky astronaut’s suit — along with a fully-functioning LED light-up helmet and Kojima Productions flag. Best of all for fans of the Metal Gear creator? Each of the 150 Ludens statues comes autographed by Kojima himself.
Sadly, a release for the highly detailed piece is still a ways off (it’s currently slated to ship between January and March of 2018), but the Prime 1 Studio-produced figure can be pre-ordered online now for a cool $2,000 USD.
