Luc Besson’s (The Professional, Lucy) much talked-about new project Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets finally gets a teaser trailer. The movie is based on the French comic series “Valerian and Laureline” and stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevigne. As for Luc Besson, the director actually scrapped an earlier version of the film’s draft after seeing Avatar according to Variety. Besson thought that the movie set the bar so high for sci-fi films that he had to rethink his project. As for the trailer, we see an action-packed space film filled with spectacular robots, aliens and spaceships. The film also has a star-studded cast that also includes John Goodman, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke and Rhianna. As for the official synopsis:
Special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) maintain order throughout the universe for the government of the human territories. Under orders from their commander (Clive Owen), the duo embark on a mission to Alpha, an intergalactic city where diverse species share their technology and resources for the betterment of all. The ever-expanding metropolis is also home to sinister forces that jeopardize the future of mankind.
