The Debut Teaser Trailer for 'Cars 3' Reveals a Dark Turn for the Disney-Pixar Series

The very first trailer for the third installment in Disney Pixar’s Cars franchise is officially here. Hinting at a darker direction, the new teaser trailer for Cars 3 presents a snippet of a crash involving the hero of the series Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson). “From this moment, everything will change,” reads the conclusion of the new Cars 3 vignette. The forthcoming Cars film will revolve around Lightning McQueen’s battle to earn his way back to the top, having suffered a critical setback due to a particularly-severe racing accident. Cars 3 will also mark the directorial debut of Brian Fee, a renowned storyboard artist and animator whose resume includes the previous Cars films, Monsters University and WALL-E.
