Following many months of disagreements and litigation with Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne announced during his set at KMEL’s Summer Jam in Oakland that he has recently signed a deal with his “motherfucking idol” JAY Z. Although it remains to be seen if Tunechi has signed a deal with Roc Nation or a TIDAL-related venture, this move should come as no surprise, considering the ongoing issues with his parent label. While the specifics of the contract with his new label have not been disclosed, let’s hope his switch onto JAY Z’s roster will be another step in liberating his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter V.
